Nerdic - The Language of the Web

Beware of geeks bearing lists - a new language is taking over the world and it’s all based on technical terms.

According to Pixmania, people who speak ‘Nerdic’ are well up on the latest jargon surrounding the IT industry.

Common terms include Rickrolling - deliberately guiding someone to the YouTube video of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up - and WiMAX, a wireless technology that provides internet access over large areas.

Other terms are RFID - short for radio frequency identification, a technology used to track items, and Android - a mobile phone operating system dreamed up by Google.

However, Pixmania also said that some terms, such as HD DVD, the ill-fated competitor to Blu-ray Disc, and dial-up, were due to be vanquished from the Nerdic language.
